Harvested greens being packed inside the proposed facilityProposed facility visualization

From growing to harvest

Rafts are lifted, greens are cut and packed, and fruiting crops are picked in their own zones. What harvest looks like, and what might grow.

By NoTerra Farms

Grown with care. Harvest is simple, and it never disturbs the growing beds.

Lift, cut, replant

In the deep water culture core, rafts are lifted, leafy greens and herbs are cut and packed, and the beds are replanted. Produce moves from the growing floor to a loading area and on to local buyers, so it reaches nearby tables soon after harvest.

Fruiting crops, in their own zones

Tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers grow in specialized zones with microclimates suited to each crop, and they are picked as they ripen.

Crops under consideration

Crops under consideration include lettuces and other leafy greens, basil and other culinary herbs, tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet peppers and chili peppers. Growing a mix, rather than one product, lets harvests follow what local kitchens and markets ask for.

The final crop mix will be set during planning. Buyers and distribution partners will be confirmed as the project advances, and none are represented here.
