Leafy greens growing in deep water culture bedsProposed facility visualization

No terra means no soil

Why two longtime Las Vegas residents with roots in food service set out to grow fresh produce in Nevada, for Nevada.

By NoTerra Farms

NoTerra Farms began with a simple belief. Nevada deserves fresh, locally grown produce, all year.

A problem of distance

The founders are longtime Las Vegas residents with deep roots in the food-service industry. Again and again, the “fresh” produce reaching the valley, bought at a grocery store or sourced wholesale, had been harvested a week or more before.

It arrived near the end of its life, wilting and short-lived, after a long trip from another state. The problem was the distance between harvest and table.

No terra means no soil.

Growing close to home

NoTerra Farms was started to close that distance, by growing produce in Nevada, in the desert, with methods that keep water in use and, quite literally, no terra.

Harvests are intended for local grocers, restaurants, hospitality, schools and healthcare, shortening the distance between harvest and table.
